Join us for the 7th Annual Festival of Trees, parkside at the Wilma
in historic downtown Missoula, Montana, December 1-3, 2005. The
Festival of Trees is Missoula’s premier holiday event, bringing an
enchanting weekend to Missoula and generating funds to support
Mountain Home Montana, a home for teenage mothers and their babies.
The Festival of Trees is a wonderful kick-off to the holiday season
featuring a Fashion Show, public tree viewing, a Friday evening
stroll among the trees, a Saturday Teddy Bear Tea Party, silent
auction all weekend, and The Festival of Trees Live Auction Event on
Saturday evening.
Volunteers have come together to transform Creative Catering,
parkside at the Wilma, into an impressive Enchanted Forest. Visitors
can stroll through the decorated trees, wreaths, and holiday items
created by the community’s top designers. Attracting people of all
ages, the Festival also features special events throughout the
weekend including live entertainment.
This year there will be ten elaborately decorated theme trees
designed and adorned by amateur and professional decorators.
Individuals and businesses sponsor these trees, which are sold
during the Live Auction Event for as much as $5,000. At the close of
the Festival, trees are delivered by volunteers to the purchasers’
home, business, or other location. Imagine the beauty and attention
this tree would bring to your home or business! Sometimes, the buyer
of a tree donates the decorated tree and its abundant gifts to a
nonprofit community organization or a local hospital.
More than 30 wreaths, miniature trees, and other holiday items are
on display to the public and available for silent auction throughout
the weekend. This is your opportunity to purchase a beautiful
handmade gift for a loved one or to display these in your own home
during the holidays.
The Festival opens Thursday, December 1st at 7:00 pm with the
Fashion Show and a sneak preview of the Enchanted Forest filled with
trees, wreaths, and other holiday items. The Fashion Show features
trendy fashions, jewelry, make-up, and hairstyles for all seasons
from local boutiques and stores such as Skin Chic, Miss Zula’s, J.
Elaine’s, Laurel Creek, Nolita, and more! This event usually sells
out, so reserve your seat early! Tickets are $10.
The Enchanted Forest opens to the public on Friday, December 2nd
from 10:00am-5:00pm and welcomes the public through Saturday
afternoon. Tickets are $2. Visitors can mingle among the trees
sipping hot cocoa and getting in to the holiday spirit. This is also
your chance to bid on the silent auction items you can’t live
without.
The First Friday evening of each month, Missoulians stroll through
the local art galleries to enjoy wine and fine art with friends. On
Friday, December 2nd, The Festival of Trees invites you to stop in
for a complimentary glass of wine and take in the beauty of the
unique holiday trees, wreaths, and other holiday items in the
Enchanted Forest from 5:00-8:00 pm. This event is free.
Little ones are invited to bring their favorite teddy bear to The
Teddy Bear Tea Party on Saturday, December 3rd from 11:00 am-noon.
Tickets are $8. Children of all ages can enjoy a story with Mrs.
Claus, sing songs, do a holiday project, and most importantly, have
tea! (or juice and snacks). This event fills up fast, so arrive
early to make sure you and your teddy get a seat! Parents and
Grandparents are invited to escort their children to this event.
The event everyone waits for is the Festival of Trees Live Auction
Event from 7:00-11:00 pm Saturday evening, featuring ten
one-of-a-kind theme trees! The evening among the trees, features a
cash bar, delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by Creative
Catering, and the chance to bid on your favorite tree. These trees
are like nothing you have ever seen before and make your holiday
decorating a breeze. Individual tickets can be purchased or a table
for your friends, family, or office can be reserved. Tickets are
